Writing Contest Past Winners
For the last several years, the APC has held a writing contest for pastors serving their first parish, or who have recently completed a first call pastorate. In this contest, applicants are requested to submit an article for the APC’s quarterly journal Sharing the Practice that illumines the unique challenge(s) of the “first call” pastorate, the deployment of the spiritual gifts of pastor and people, and theological reflection upon the experience. Up to two articles are selected for publication in an upcoming issue of Sharing the Practice. Writers of selected articles are given an honorary one-year membership in the APC, and a grant of $600 for registration and travel to the upcoming APC Annual Conference.
