The Academy of Parish Clergy accepts submissions from all publishers in the areas of ministry, pastoral care, theology and any other topics related to ministry in any faith tradition. We feel our ministry benefits from a diversity of viewpoints including interfaith perspectives and we invite publishers to expand their submissions from their historical topic selections.  However we ultimately make our choices based on the books published and submitted in the prior year.

The following awards were made at the Annual Conference of the Academy of Parish Clergy, April 21-23, 2015, at the Inn at the Claggett Center, in Buckeystown, Maryland.

  • The 2015 Book of the Year Award, for the top book for parish ministry published in 2014, is awarded to: The Church According to Paul: Rediscovering the Community Conformed, by James Thompson (Baker Academic).
  • The 2015 Reference Book of the Year Award, for the top reference book for parish ministry published in 2014, is given to: Deuteronomy: A Theological Commentary on the Bible, by Deanna Thompson (Westminster John Knox Press)
