The Academy of Parish Clergy accepts submissions from all publishers in the areas of ministry, pastoral care, theology and any other topics related to ministry in any faith tradition. We feel our ministry benefits from a diversity of viewpoints including interfaith perspectives and we invite publishers to expand their submissions from their historical topic selections.  However we ultimately make our choices based on the books published and submitted in the prior year.

The Academy of Parish Clergy, Inc. proudly announced that the 2017 Book of the Year Award was awarded to Reviving Old Scratch: Demons and the Devil for Doubters and the Disenchanted, written by Richard Beck and published by Fortress Press (2016). Beck is Professor of Psychology at Abilene Christian University. The Book of the Year Award is given to the best book published for parish ministry in the previous year.

In addition, the Reference Book of the Year Award was awarded to 1 Samuel as Christian Scripture: A Theological Commentary, written by Stephen B. Chapman and published by William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. (2016). Chapman is Associate Professor of Old Testament at Duke Divinity School and Director of Graduate Studies in Religion at Duke University.
