congregational ministry late in chronologic age and who has fulfilled at least
one triennium in the Academy of Parish Clergy (and is in good standing) and who
applies to the College of Fellows for such consideration.
PART TWO - THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BECOMING A FELLOW
When a candidate wants to apply for "Fellow" in one of the above appropriate
categories, he or she should make this known to the Dean of Studies of the
Academy of Parish Clergy. The Dean of Studies then notifies the Dean of the
College of Fellows indicating under which category the candidate is applicable,
and notifies the Dean of the College of Fellows as to whether all the Academy of
Parish Clergy credentials of the applicant are in order.
The Dean of the College of Fellows will then notify the applicant immediately,
welcoming him or her to the program and assigning him or her a Supervising
"Fellow" with whom the applicant will continue the relationship. The applicant
will provide his or her supervising Fellow with the following:
1. A written article reflecting what he or she has learned in using the Guide
for Continuing Growth.
2. A copy of the Consultant's evaluation of the candidate's use of the Guide for
Continuing Growth.
3. A copy of the White Form III in the Guide for Continuing Growth reflecting
the collation of self, peer and lay ratings.
4. A brief autobiographical sketch of the candidate along with a brief article
on where he or she sees himself or herself across the next five years and what
the level of "Fellow" means to him or her.
The Supervising Fellow will, in turn, ask the other current Fellows to review
with him or her the applicant's materials along with the recommendation to the
Dean of the College of Fellows. The Dean of the College of Fellows will then
recommend to the Board of Directors the findings of the Supervising Fellow and
his or her two colleagues for the candidate's final approval and election by the
Board of Directors.
To receive the conferral of "Fellow" at the annual meeting in any given year,
the candidates requirements must all be met and submitted to the Supervising
Fellow by January 15th of that year. The Dean of the College of Fellows must
receive the recommendation by January 31st of that year. The conferral of
"Fellow" will be made with appropriate ceremony at the annual meeting.
