Dr. Satterlee, ordained in 1987, has served congregations in upstate New York and Michigan before being called to Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. He regularly leads continuing education events throughout the church. Pastor Satterlee is continually grounded in parish ministry, as he serves as a consulting pastor at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Glenwood, IL, and preaches regularly in congregations. As a faculty member, he is Chair of Homiletics; and Dean, ACTS D. Min. in Preaching Program. For more information go to www.lstc.edu.
As a person who is legally blind, Dr. Satterlee has a passion for ministry with persons with disabilities and a unique perception on faith, church and the world. In his most recent book, When God Speaks Through Worship: Stories Congregations Live By, Dr. Satterlee shows that worship is a place where God's liberating grace is already present and active in words and actions as he relates powerful stories taken from the lives of the congregations he has been privileged to serve. Related interests include the relationship of preaching and areas of congregational life and mission, including liturgy, spirituality, stewardship, mission and leadership.
